Sonos Roam features two Class-H digital amplifiers that are perfectly tuned to match the speaker drivers and acoustic architecture. To support the amplifiers, Roam integrates a mid-woofer and tweeter that ensures faithful playback of the entire frequency spectrum. Roam is designed to offer versatility in terms of its use – when placed vertically, Roam delivers a room-filling sound and takes up barely any space. Position it horizontally on uneven surfaces like grass for added stability. The triangular shape subtly directs sound upward to your ear for a better listening experience. To top all this Roam uses automatic TruePlay tuning to adapt the sound for your surroundings and content.

Sonos Roam features tactile touch controls for volume up/down, previous/next track, play/pause, and microphone status on the top panel. An illuminated LED indicator light ensures you’re always aware when the microphone is active. The LED light indicates the speaker status, microphone status, and voice feedback. The responsive audio chime lets you know that your Sonos Roam has heard you and is working on a response. The built-in microphone uses a far-field microphone array setup to use advanced beamforming and multi-channel echo cancellation for quick and accurate and automatic Trueplay tuning.

Once you are low on battery, you can recharge Move with the included USB-C cable and any 7.5W (5V/1.5A or 2.1A) or higher USB power adapter (sold separately), or the custom-designed Sonos Wireless Charger (sold separately). Sonos Roam falls asleep to save power when not in use and wakes up in less than a second with the press of a button.
